EviRed final meeting

On June 25, we were delighted to welcome our attendees in Paris for the EviRed final meeting.

The event brought together leading national and international retina specialists, diabetologists, artificial intelligence experts, and the academic and industrial partners.

The day featured rich scientific discussions around the first results from the EVIRED cohort, including its clinical characteristics, the incidence and progression of diabetic retinopathy complications, and several ongoing research projects that will further advance our understanding of diabetic eye disease.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the final performance results of the EVIRED artificial intelligence algorithms. Their validation on one of the largest prospective multicenter cohorts of patients with diabetes in Europe represents an important milestone.

Beyond presenting the results, the meeting provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss future research directions, and strengthen collaborations between clinicians, researchers, engineers, and industry partners.

A heartfelt thank you to all investigators, clinicians, researchers, engineers, patients, and our academic and industrial partners for their dedication and outstanding collaboration throughout this journey.

EVIRED at ARVO and SFO 2026 meetings

The EVIRED project was presented at the annual meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), held this year in Denver, USA (1st picture).

EVIRED was also represented at the annual congress of the Société Française d’Ophtalmologie (SFO) at Paris. On this occasion, Prof. Aude Couturier presented the first results of the EVIRED project through the presentations (pictures 2 and 3):

  • “AI and Retinal Photography: EVIRED”
  • “Will the first EVIRED results change our practice in diabetic retinopathy?”

Ms. Abir Zureik also presented the results of the study entitled (picture 4):
“Factors associated with ophthalmological care among patients with diabetes in France: a nationwide SNDS study.”

EVIRED–SNDS Linkage

EviRed is proud to announce a key milestone in the project: the successful linkage of the EviRed cohort with the SNDS (French National Health Data System).

This major achievement significantly strengthens the value of the EVIRED RHU project. It enables the development of advanced medico-economic analyses and, in the longer term, will enhance our understanding of care pathways for patients living with diabetes.

6-Month Extension of the RHU Evired Project

We are pleased to announce that, as of February 24, the ANR has approved a six-month extension for the RHU Evired project.

This extension will enable the teams to finalise the remaining research work and enhance the performance of the artificial intelligence.
